Why GridShift exists
As a homeowner, I wanted a straightforward answer: would solar panels or a home battery actually pay off for my household?
But vendors required me to register, submit my address and phone number, just to see a quote or details. I wasn't ready to buy—I was just curious. And sure enough, the calls and emails started rolling in.
The calculators I found promised magical returns, but none of them used my actual usage—just generic assumptions that always made solar and home batteries look like a no-brainer. Cherry-picked numbers to make everything look good.
It felt like a scam—everything was designed to convert me into a lead, and eventually a customer, rather than actually helping me see the real numbers.
After some brainstorming and a few beers with a friend, the idea for GridShift took shape. A calculator that's honest, transparent, and actually useful—not just another sales tool.
No registration, no contact forms, no sales follow-ups and no ads. Just connect your Tibber account or upload a CSV, and get honest numbers based on your real consumption and actual weather data for your location.
Hopefully you find it useful.
